Suriel Majestuoso – Cigar Review

Suriel Majestuoso Cigar 2
Up for review is the Suriel Majestuoso.  This is a nice looking cigar with a pigtail cap and cedary smell.  Once lit up, it tasted a slightly sweet and earthy with some pepper and bitterness on the finish.  Later on that sweet flavor really dominates along with a floral note.  It tastes entirely delicious.  Overall, this one is a hair on the expensive side, but that delicious flavor makes it a worthwhile purchase.  We recommend giving it a try!

Suriel Majestuoso Cigar 3
7:49 PM
Terry1: The Suriel looks good, well made. Clipping the cap revealed a pleasant draw with the typical aged tobacco note.
7:50 PM
Terry1: Mine has a blue label and a pigtail on the cap.
7:51 PM
StraightUpCigars: Mine looks good too, nice wrapper leaf. Draw is a bit tight, I taste cedar on the cold draw.
7:51 PM
StraightUpCigars: Lighting!
7:51 PM
Terry1: Lighting up!
7:56 PM
StraightUpCigars: Great flavor to start, bolder than I expected. Rich and earthy with some raisin and a slightly peppery finish.
7:57 PM
Terry1: Smoking well. Getting plenty of smoke with each draw. Got a pepper note in the sinus to start off with. Some sweetness, earth, and some bitterness on the finish. Good start.
8:00 PM
Terry1: Only a half inch into the cigar and the wrapper split about two inches. Cigar must have swelled. Still drawing. Hopefully it doesn’t mess up the flavors too much.
8:01 PM
StraightUpCigars: Looks like these retail for $10. I haven’t seen them for sale online anywhere, still pretty new.
8:05 PM
StraightUpCigars: I have a pronounced sweetness on mine, but at the same time the pepper has ramped up to match it.
8:08 PM
Terry1: I’ve got a battle going between my nose and tongue. Aroma is really nice, complex. I’m struggling to identify the sweetness but I’m liking it. My tongue tastes like I’ve licked a whole box of cheap wedding announcements. It feels coated with an unpleasant bitterness. Water is helping but I’m thinking of something stronger to cover up the taste.
8:11 PM
StraightUpCigars: Mine has a bitterness that comes through like a raisin flavor on mine, but it sounds like yours is at a whole different level. Maybe related to the wrapper split?
8:13 PM
Terry1: Ash was solid when I tapped off. I’m getting close to the top of the split and the cigar is flowering. Burn is way off now. It was even. I’m thinking this is a fluke and the cigar will recover once it gets past the split.
8:15 PM
StraightUpCigars: I hope you’re right. Mine is burning evenly and smoking well so far.
8:16 PM
Terry1: Looks like Suriel keeps track of the reviews. You’ll have to check the site later and see if this gets posted.
8:17 PM
StraightUpCigars: Will do. Forgot to mention the obvious, this cigar was gifted to us by them.
8:19 PM
Terry1: I’m past the split and everything so good again. Burning even. I’m not getting the raisin but the bitterness doesn’t seem as strong. Loving the sweetness and pepper combination.
8:21 PM
Terry1: Their site doesn’t have a link under the “Where to buy”. Hopefully these will be available sometime. It’s a good cigar despite the split.
8:22 PM
StraightUpCigars: I saw that too, they need to get that part of the site updated. Reviews are worthless if people can’t buy them.
8:28 PM
StraightUpCigars: I think mine has really hit the “sweet spot”. Delicious flavor right now.
8:29 PM
Terry1: Band peeled off without incident. I agree with the sweet spot. Cigar is smoking great now. I am starting to feel some strength now.
8:32 PM
StraightUpCigars: The burn is about as straight as I’ve ever seen. Ash holds on well. Glad yours is back on track
8:38 PM
StraightUpCigars: Smoke production has amped up on mine and the draw opened up. Kind of a nice bonus this late in the cigar.
8:40 PM
Terry1: Yeah I’m getting lots of tasty smoke too. Burn has evened out. The strength is starting to kick my ass. I’m starting to see double.
8:41 PM
StraightUpCigars: I’m feeling it too, just got a little light headed standing up It’s a big cigar.
8:42 PM
Terry1: The sweetness has developed a floral note to it. Really enjoying this cigar despite the strength.
8:45 PM
StraightUpCigars: That’s what I have been tasting! Good call out, couldn’t put my finger on it.
8:50 PM
StraightUpCigars: Once this cigar mellowed in the second third it really started to taste good. I’ve had a hard time setting it down for a while now.
8:52 PM
Terry1: Same here. I’ve been powering through the last third for the great flavor. The bitterness I had earlier is all but gone now. Good ending.
8:53 PM
Terry1: I’m about done. I can review anytime.
8:53 PM
StraightUpCigars: So glad yours came around so we could both enjoy it.
8:57 PM
StraightUpCigars: Overall, The second and final thirds were the best on this one. Nice sweet flavor balanced by pepper. A bit pricey, but not bad for B&M price. I’d recommend it.
8:57 PM
Terry1: Knocked a point off for the split. I think it did affect the flavor in that first third. Once I got past that it smoked and tasted great. If you can find it I’d recommend trying it.
