Siboney – Cigar Review

Siboney Robusto Review

This is a budget priced Famous Smoke only cigar made by Alec Bradley and comprised of well aged tobacco.  As some of you know I have had  problems with the construction of AB cigars in the past, so we will have to see how this one works out.

The wrapper is a Honduran Trojes that is dark brown in color w/ a couple of medium sized veins.

The cigar is a bit spongy with a hard spot in the middle.  I chose to punch it and the draw was perfect!  It has a nice sweet and spicy tobacco smell.

The mild bodied first third has a very smooth earthy taste dominated by spicy oak flavor with a sweet finish.   The draw is literally perfect.   Off to a good start…  It is producing a lot of smoke!

The second third increased to a mild-medium body smoke.  There was a lot more pepper flavor in this part of the smoke, it is an earthy and peppery smoke that still has a sweet finish with some spice.  It tastes really good – very smooth.  Burn is still very even!

The final third was medium bodied, maybe even medium-full at the end.  The flavor profile was very simple, but at the same time very enjoyable.  The sweetness on the finish is gone and the flavors I am picking up are a simple combo of earthy, peppery, and spicy smoke.

Overall, I feel like this cigar does exactly what it was intended to do: smokes very well without any surprises.  It also does that at a cheap price.  The cigar is not at all complex, it is very straightforward and pleasant.  It is medium bodied and not at all strong, so I think that it will appeal to many different people – especially at the $3 a stick price you can find it at!
