Padilla Habano – Cigar Review

Padilla Habano Robusto Review

This Padilla is done with class from the Cuban seed tobacco all the way down to the tasteful band.

It has standard Habano smells, rich tobacco and spice.

The wrapper is a nice semi-oily golden brown with only very small veins.

The construction seems decent without any hard or soft spots.  It is very firm and the draw is tight after being punched.  Unfortunately the cap is a little looser and has come free on one side.

I lit it up and was met with the expected pepper and spice.  It was buttery and smooth right from the start with medium body.  The gray ash became very loose and was flaking off by the 1 inch mark.

It developed a very robust tobacco flavor in the second third.  This was complemented by a spicy pepper finish and leaves a buttery coating on the roof of your mouth.  The draw is very tight and the cigar is not producing a ton of smoke.

The final third consisted of the same flavors, but had a stronger kick to it.  Definitely in the medium-full body range.  The draw opened up quite a bit and it is  now producing ample smoke.

Overall, this was a good clean cigar with none of the construction problems that I have had with other Padillas.  This Padilla was a very traditional Habano cigar, nothing surprising about this blend.  In retrospect I should have cut it instead of punching to open up the draw a bit.  I recommend giving this one a shot it you like cuban seed smokes.  You can get it pretty cheap if you shop around.
