La Flor Dominicana Torpedito Ligero Oscuro – Cigar Review
Cigar Review: La Flor Dominicana Torpedito Ligero Oscuro
Wrapper: Nice brown color with only tiny veins.
Construction: Perfect draw after a shallow cut. Firm and evenly packed. Great chisel shape.
Pre-light Notes: Looking forward to finally reviewing an LFD cigar! Spicy, barnyard tobacco smell.
Flavor & Taste: The first half was dominated by a robust buttery tobacco flavor w/ peppermint spice on the finish. It also has a faint sweetness to it. It lit up easily and is burning straight. It’s also full bodied right off the bat. Off to a great start!
The cigar has remained full bodied for the second half. The second half features a charred oak flavor with plenty of pepper and spice on the finish. Both sticks I smoked did require one minor burn correction. La Flor Dominicana cigars are known for being strong, and I can really feel the nicotine in the second half of this small cigar.
Overall: I got these samples from LFD, and I’m glad they sent them. This is a very good cigar that packs a ton of flavor into a small stick. The quality of the leaf really shows. The construction was good and the price is very reasonable for such a flavorful cigar. These are not aimed towards the beginner crowd due to the full body smoke and strong kick they pack. I highly recommend these to the experienced cigar smoker who is looking for a smaller smoke that doesn’t smoke like one.
