There is nothing more relaxing than smoking a cigar!
I was reminded of this the other night. After a long week of work I finally sat down on Thursday to write up a review. The weather was just right and the birds were chirping. I lit up the smoke and sat back to enjoy the ride. Many times I find myself talking or barbecuing while I smoke. This is nice, but it is hard to focus on the cigar unless you are with someone else that enjoys cigars as much as you do. Sometimes it is nice just to sit and think while smoking. Just put down everything else and relax… don’t even think about the cigar, this clears the mind! Now, with all of that said, there is nothing as good as sitting down by your lonesome, with a drink if you so choose, on the back porch and lighting up a cigar with the sole intention of doing a review. All of your focus is on the cigar itself… the flavors, the construction, the nice wrapper, and the hard work that went into getting that cigar all the way to you on your back porch. When doing this you will notice new subtle flavors and characteristics of a cigar that you’ve smoked 20 times before. In fact sometimes I find myself so engrossed in the review that I have no idea how much time has passed. If you have never taken the time to sit down and take notes on a cigar, I highly recommend it! Even if you just throw the notes away afterwards it is the experience that matters. So this takes me back to the other night. I was doing the review and about halfway through I stopped and looked around. I felt the wind blowing strongly, saw the squirrels squawking at each other, and noticed how much my flowers had grown in just a few days. It’s not often that people get the chance to sit back and reflect, unless you are a cigar smoker ;)_
